The blast occurred at Banex Plaza in Wuse II area of Abuja, killing 17 persons and injuring several others, according to the police.
Victims have been rushed to the hospital.
Recently, there have been series of bomb explosions in Nigeria, mainly carried out by a terrorist group called Boko Haram.
