Boko Haram Claims Responsibility For Lagos, Abuja Blasts In New Video
The dreadful Boko Haram group has released a new video obtained by AFP and has claimed responsibility for the two attacks that occurred in Lagos and Abuja on June 25, 2014.
In the Lagos attack on a tank farm in Apapa area of the state, the state government tried to cover up the blast, claiming it was a fire incident and not a suicide bombing attack as widely reported by the media.
“A bomb went off in Lagos. I ordered (the bomber) who went and detonated it. You said it was a fire incident, well, if you hide it from people, you can’t hide it from Allah,” Abubakar Shekau, Boko Haram leader, said in the 16-minute video.
Speaking on the Abuja shopping mall bomb blast which occurred some hours before the Lagos incident, Shekau, who is wanted by the US government, said, “we were the ones who detonated the bomb in filthy Abuja.”
The group is still in custody of the Chibok schoolgirls, who were kidnapped in April 2014.
