On Saturday, the new Minister of Education, Ibrahim Shekarau, visited Kano State, where he hails from. It was his first visit to the state after he was sworn-in on Wednesday in Abuja by President Goodluck Jonathan as Minister.
Several residents of the state trooped out to welcome Shekarau and the main road leading to the ancient city of Kano was blocked.
This caused a traffic logjam along the Kwanan Dawaki area of the state.
Aproko247 also gathered that people lined up in Kura Road wearing attire of the Peoples’ Democratic Party, PDP, and chanted the new Minister’s name, who cheered the mammoth crowd.
Shekarau left the All Progressives Congress, APC, to pitched tent with the PDP.
