Ken Nwosu, the Abia State Commissioner for Agriculture, who shot last Wednesday by some gunmen, has died. Nwosu died after six days he was shot around Umuajata/Amakamma Road in Umuahia, the state capital of Abia, at about 8pm.
The hoodlums shot the deceased while he was driving his car.
After he was shot, the late Commissioner was taken to Abia State Specialist Hospital for treatment.
Commissioner for Information in Abia State, Eze Chikamnayo, who announced the death, said Nwosu died on Monday night at the hospital.
He also disclosed that the state government had concluded arrangements to fly him abroad, but due to doctors’ insistence that they stable his condition first, he could not be flown abroad before his untimely death.
Meanwhile, the state government has directed security agents in the state to ensure perpetrators of this act are caught and prosecuted according to the law.
