President Goodluck Jonathan met with members of the Chibok community in Borno State on Tuesday. The meeting was held at the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa of Aso Rock in Abuja. The President would have met with them last Tuesday, until it was abruptly called off in the last minute.
Aproko247 reliably learnt that the meeting was fruitful and that members of the community, including parents of the escapee girls expressed their views on the issue of the over 200 students of the Government Girls Secondary School, Chibok, Borno, who were kidnapped over three months ago by a terrorists group called Boko Haram.
Spokesman of Jonathan, Rueben Abati, who welcomed the delegates of the community to the gathering, said the meeting was to afford the President to have talks with the community and to assure them that government was doing everything to rescue the abducted girls.
However, stern looking officers of the SSS prevented newsmen from speaking with any member of the Chibok community after the meeting ended at about 3pm.
Aproko247 gathered that members of the community got assurances from the government that their wards would return home safely very soon.
