Former Special Adviser on Political Matters to President Goodluck Jonathan, Aliyu Gulak, has expressed his intention to contest in the Adamawa State gubernatorial election, which is expected to take place within the next three months.
Gulak made his intention known on Tuesday while addressing some members of the Peoples’ Democratic Party, PDP, in Yola, the state capital.
The astute politician said he is confident to emerge as the party’s flag-bearer for the polls.
Governorship election will hold in the state following the impeachment of Governor Murtala Nyako by the State House of Assembly and the resignation of his deputy, James Ngilari. The governor was removed from office on allegations of corruption.
Gulak, in his address on Tuesday, said the party’s leadership has no intention of imposing any candidate on them.
