A panel has been instituted by the Enugu State House of Assembly to look into allegations of misconduct against the state’s deputy governor, Sunday Onyebuchi. The Assembly, on Thursday, directed the state’s Chief Judge, Innocent Umezurike, to set up the committee, which comprises seven members, within a week.
Onyebuchi was accused of running a poultry farm in the Government House in Enugu, contrary to a resolution of the House prohibiting such. He was also alleged of disobeying the state governor, Sullivan Chime; allegations the deputy governor has denied.
On July 24, 2014, the deputy governor was served an impeachment notice by the Enugu State House of Assembly. It is believed that the state governor wants his deputy out and install a new person.
