Tony Anenih, Chairman, Board of Trustees, BoT, of the Peoples’ Democratic Party, PDP, has stated that President Goodluck Jonathan will run in the 2015 presidential election. The renowned politician said the President will contest at the polls on the platform of PDP.
“I want the National Chairman [of the PDP] to go home with a word from the father that come 2015, Jonathan will run for presidency for the second term,” Anenih told party faithful in Calabar, Rivers State.
The BoT Chairman was in Calabar for the party’s maiden zonal tour of the south-south by the PDP National Chairman, Adamu Mu’azu, which took place on Tuesday.
He urged members of the party in the region to continue to work together for the success of the party, stating that “if we continue like this, the load in 2015 will be lighter than the load in 2011″.
However, Jonathan is yet to declare his intention to run in the 2015 election, but some critics have claimed that the President’s body language has revealed that he will contest.
