Ebola Kills Lagos Doctor

The number of persons already killed by the fatal disease called Ebola has now risen to five with the death of one Dr Ameyo Adadevoh on Tuesday in Lagos.

The deceased was one of those who treated late Patrick Sawyer, the Liberian-American believed to have transported the deadly disease to Nigeria. Adadevoh led the medical team at First Consultants Medical Centre in Lagos that attended to Sawyer after he arrived Nigeria through the Murtala Mohammed International Airport, MMIA, Ikeja, Lagos in July.

She contracted the virus and was said to have recovered from the disease, but later went into a come on Monday. However, efforts made to revive her were futile as the 58-year-old physician eventually succumbed to the disease on Tuesday evening.

The Ebola Virus Disease, EVD, is yet to have a cure.
