Respective Commissioners of Police in Abuja and Lagos State, Mbu Joseph Mbu and Umaru Abubakar Manko have been promoted to the rank of Assistant Inspector General of Police, AIG, by the Police Service Commission, PSC.
A statement issued on Wednesday by the Assistant Director, Press and Public Relations of the Commission, Ferdinand U. Ekpe, disclosed that the promotion of Mbu, Manko and 17 other senior officers became necessary because of the vacuum left by some officers that recently retired from the Force and also those who were elevated to the rank of Deputy Inspector General of Police, DIG.
PSC added that the promotion of the officers is also to help tackle Nigeria’s current security challenges, while the new AIGs were urged to live up to expectations.
Their appointments are with effect from Wednesday, August 20, 2014.
The officers are: Adebayo Ajileye, A. J. Abakasanga, Ambrose O. Aisibor, Chintua Amajor-Onu, Felix Osita Uyanna, Godfrey E. Okeke, Ibrahim M. Maishanu, Irimiya F.
