‘African Queen’ crooner, Innocent Idibia, famously known as 2Face Idibia, has lost his father to the cold hands of death.
The multiple award-winning singer’s dad, Michael Agbo Idibia, kicked the bucket on Saturday, August 23, 2014, at an Abuja hospital at the age of 68.
He was said to have died of cancer.
In a statement issued by the deceased’s family, it was disclosed that the burial arrangements would be made available to the public soon.
“Burial arrangements will be announced by the family. We plead with the media and the general public to respect the privacy of the family in this difficult time,” part of the statement issued by the family reads.
The deceased was a native of Okpokwu Edumoga in Benue State and attended the Kansas State University, USA, and worked at the Ministry of Agriculture, Makurdi, Benue State, where he later retired.
He was survived by wife, Mrs Rose Owoyi Idibia; children: Steven Idibia, Innocent ’2face’ Idibia, Hyacinth Idibia and Oche Idibia; grand-children; and siblings.
