On August 20, 2014, some gunmen suspected to be Boko Haran members attacked a Police Mobile Force Training School in Gworza, Borno State. Thirty-five officers were picked by the gunmen, but seven were later rescued. Since then, the Force intensified its search for the officers.
Addressing newsmen in Abuja on the missing officers, the Acting Inspector General of Police, Suleiman Abba, disclosed that the police authorities are worried about the issue and are doing everything to ensure the men are rescued.
