A South African judge has sentenced Oscar Pistorius to five years imprisonment for culpable homicide in the shooting to death of his girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp, on the night of Valentine’s Day of 2013.
Ruling on the matter on Tuesday, Judge Masipa said Pistorius is now automatically unfit to possess a firearm, having been given a three-year suspension for firearm charge against him. Also, all his certificates of competence were seized.
It was delivered that Pistorius will serve 10 months of his sentence behind bars, while the rest would be observed under a house arrest.
