Former Barcelona shot-stopper, Victor Valdes, has met with Manchester United coach, Louis van Gaal, over a possible move to the club. The Spanish goalkeeper hopes to team up with his countryman, David De Gea, who is United’s first choice goalkeeper.
Valdes played about 535 games for Barca over a period of 12 years and failed to renew his contract with the Spanish giant. He has been out of action this season due to a knee injury and hopes to work his way back to fitness with Man United.
The 32-year-old is also a free agent and will have his recovery supervised by the United medical staff before training with the first team. On Thursday, Valdes was at the Carrington training ground of Manchester United.
Valdes played against United in the Champions League, including in the final, where Barcelona defeated the English club.
The Spanish goalkeeper was expected to join Liverpool, but a deal could not be sealed.
