A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Senator Annie Okonkwo, has quit the party and has rejoined the Peoples’ Democratic Party, PDP. Okonkwo was formerly the deputy National Chairman (South) of APC.
He alleged that APC was not observing internal democracy, which influenced his decision to leave the party.
Okonkwo was elected a Senator in 2007, representing Anambra Central Senatorial District under the platform of PDP. He disclosed that in 2015, he will be contesting in the same senatorial district under the PDP, having been granted waiver by the party.
The three Senators representing Anambra State in the National Assembly have now been removed by the Supreme Court.
