The secretariat of the Peoples’ Democratic Party, PDP, in Cross River State has been shut by men of the Quick Intervention Squad, QIS, in the state. The closure was necessitated following the deepening crisis rocking the party in Cross Rivers State.
It was learnt that a disagreement ensued between some party chieftains in the state and members of the state executive council, which affected the local government congresses.
To prevent any trouble from happening, officers of the QIS were promptly drafted to the party’s state chapter secretariat located at Murtala Mohammed Highway in Calabar.
The security operatives told everyone at the secretariat to vacate the premises, while men of the Civil Defence Corps were stationed at the locked gate. No one was later allowed into the secretariat.
