The ‘operation take over north eastern Nigeria’ campaign embarked on by members of the noxious Boko Haram group seems to be gaining grounds by the day.
For some months now, the terrorists’ group have invaded some communities in the northern region of Nigeria, taking full control of day to day activities of the seized towns.
Not too long ago, the insurgents took over Mubi, the second largest town in Adamawa State, only for some local vigilante groups and hunters to chase them out and reclaim the town for the Nigerian government few days ago.
Latest information reaching Aproko247 shows that some Boko Haram members stormed a town in Adamawa State called Hong.
Hong is the administrative headquarters of Hong local government area of Adamawa State
The group invaded the town on Saturday afternoon and took over the place.
Our correspondent learnt the insurgents burnt a police station in the area, chasing out policemen in the station. It was also learnt that some people were killed during the attack that lasted hours.
The Adamawa Police Command could not be reached to confirm the attack, but a former Minister of State, Health, Aliyu Idi Hong, who hails from Hong, confirmed the incident to journalists in Yola, the Adamawa State capital.
Adamawa is one of the three states under emergency rule. The other two are Borno and Yobe States.
