The Nigeria Police has promoted over 30,000 of its officers, Aproko247 has learnt.
It was gathered that the Inspector General of Police, IGP, Suleiman Abba, approved the elevation of the officers in the rank and files who attended the Batch ‘C’ 2014 Promotion Course at the various Police Colleges and Training Schools across the country.
Aproko247 further gathered that a total number of 31,576 police officers were affected by this promotion.
Those elevated from the rank of Corporal to Sergeant got the highest number in the breakdown of the promotion approved by the police chief.
From the list obtained by Aproko247, 4,826 Sergeants were promoted to the rank of Inspector, while 20,748 Corporals were elevated to the rank of Sergeant, and 6,002 Constables became Corporals.
Not too long ago, the Police Service Commission approved the promotion and redeployment of some senior police officers.
