Nigeria won the title in South Africa in 2013.

This is the second time Nigeria has won the competition and will fail to defend the title.

In 1994, Nigeria was crowned winner of the tournament in Tunisia, but failed to defend the cup in South Africa in 1996. The country did not participate in the tournament due to political reasons.
