Buhari Flags-Off N7b Campaign Fund-Raising Initiative

An initiative to raise close to N7 billion to fund the campaign of Muhammadu Buhari’s presidential ambition has started.

The amount is to be raised from an estimated 70 million party supporters and admirers. They will be expected to donate a minimum amount of N100 each towards the actualisation of the dream.

Buhari is a national leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC, and also one of those hoping to secure the ticket of the APC for the presidential poll in February 2015.

The former Head of State, while addressing a group of young supporters under the aegis of Buhari Support Organisation, BSO, emphasised that he keyed into the idea because of the in-built mechanism for ensuring accountability and transparency in its operations.

He further stressed that he embraced the initiative because of the dedication shown by the group to seek a better Nigeria.

“What makes it worthy of praise is the fact that the initiative comes with its in-built mechanism for ensuring acceptability that is also transparency -friendly. If we preach accountability we should be able to practice it.

“What we are about to do the next few moments is the culmination of painstaking effort and dedication and unquenchable zeal to make a difference to the future that lies before us,” Buhari enthused.
