Speaker of the Taraba State House of Assembly, Josiah Kente, has resigned from office.
The number three man of the state, in his resignation letter presented to the Clerk of the Assembly, disclosed that his decision to relinquish his position was in the interest of peace in the state.
Kente informed journalists on Monday in Jalingo, the state capital, that he had forwarded his resignation letter to the Clerk of the assembly.
He thanked the people of Taraba State and members of the Assembly for supporting him since he became Speaker of the Assembly about a year ago.
Kente became Speaker of the state Assembly in November 2013 after the demise of his predecessor, Haruna Tsokwa.
