Some members of the Kebbi State House of Assembly sat on Thursday night and impeached the Speaker.
The sitting, which held around 10:30pm on Thursday, had 16 out of the 24 members of the Assembly in attendance.
The 16 lawmakers signed the impeachment of the Speaker, Habib Musa Jega and elected a new leader.
Mohammed Shalla Gwandu was elected as the new Speaker and was sworn-in by the Clerk of the Assembly, Shehu Usman Randali.
It was gathered that Jega was impeached for alleged ‘incompetence’.
