The Kano State governor, Rabiu Kwankwaso, has stamped his deputy, Umar Ganduje, as his successor in 2015.
Kwankwaso is aiming to win the presidential ticket of the All Progressive Congress, APC, for the 2015 presidential election in 2015.
At a crucial meeting of the APC’s stakeholders held in Kano on Friday, it was agreed that the governor’s deputy would be allowed contest in the Kano governorship poll, while three aspirants for the senatorial positions were also endorsed.
Former deputy governor of Ibrahim Shekarau, Tijani Muhammad Gwarzo; Brigadier Lawan Jafar Isa; and Kabiru Gaya were cleared at the meeting to fly APC senatorial flag in Kano for the election.
