Some residents of ancient city of Kano have expressed their anger over the recently apprehended aircraft belonging to Russia, which was allegedly carrying military hardware.
The plane was Chad-bound when it was seized by the Nigerian government.
At a protest on Monday, the demonstrators, who stormed the Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport, Kano, asked the Federal Government to explain how the aircraft was apprehended.
They (protesters) warned the FG not to sweep the matter under the carpet.
The protesters, under the aegis of Northern Consensus Movement, NCM, also demanded that the government must explain to Nigerians its relationship with the Chad-bound aircraft.
According to NCM President, Ibrahim Wala, the matter must be thoroughly investigated due to the incessant attacks by terrorists in north eastern Nigeria.
