For some days now, the blogosphere has been bubbling with reports of Nigeria’s representative at the recently concluded Big Brother Africa, BBA, Hotshots competition held in South Africa, Tayo Faniran, being splashed with $350,000 by Delta State-born billionaire, Ayiri Amami.
Tayo lost the $300,000 star prize to Idris Sultan of Tanzania, who emerged winner of the reality TV show.
Some sections of the media (Aproko247 excluded) claimed that Amami gave Tayo $350,000 as compensation for losing out at the competition to Idris.
This same billionaire was reported recently to have given his wife an expensive automobile as birthday gift.
But reacting to the rumour, which went viral, Tayo expressed shock at the reports, disclosing that he never received such an amount of money from Amami as being widely speculated in the media.
“Who is he? Where is he? If this $350,000 na real (is real), e mean say na this Chairman Ayiri be the real big brother (If the #350,000 rumour is real, it means Ayiri is the real Big Brother),” Tayo said.
