Jonathan Appoints Anenih, Ali, Fani-Kayode, Others As Campaign Directors

Ahead of the February 14, 2015 presidential poll, President Goodluck Jonathan has confirmed the appointments of some chieftains of the Peoples’ Democratic Party, PDP, into key positions of his campaign organisation.

Jonathan appointed former National Chairman of the PDP, Ahmadu Ali, as his campaign organisation’s Director-General, while the Chairman of the Board of trustees of the PDP, Tony Anenih, was made the National Campaign Adviser.

A statement issued on Thursday in Abuja by the Special Adviser on Political Matters to the President, Rufai Alkali, disclosed that former Aviation Minister, Femi Fani-Kayode, is the Director of Media and Publicity, while former Information Minister, Jerry Gana, will head the campaign’s contact and mobilization unit.

Also, Senator Nimi Amange is the Director of Planning, Research and Statistics; Emmanuel Imohe is the directorate of security and intelligence; and Abdullahi Maibasira is the head of Youth Mobilisation.

The statement further revealed that Senator Nenadi Usman is the Director of Finance, Aliyu Umar as the head of Administration and Logistics, Nick Eze is the head of Civil Society and Support Groups, while Becky Igwe will be the Director of Women Mobilization.

Also according to the release, Tunde Adeniran will be the Deputy Director-General of the campaign’s head office, while Special Duties Minister, Kabiru Turaki and former governor of Anambra State, Peter Obi, are the Deputy Directors-General for north and south respectively.

Alkali stated that the campaign organisation would be inaugurated on Monday at Legacy House in Abuja by 2pm.
