Just when President Goodluck Jonathan was basking in the euphoria of giving his daughter out in marriage in Yenagoa, Bayelsa, on Saturday, death cut short his happiness by taking away his sister on Sunday.
The President lost his younger sister to death in Yenagoa, the Bayelsa State capital, after a brief illness.
The woman, Mrs Nancy Jonathan-Olei, died at a hospital in Yenagoa on Sunday.
Late Jonathan-Olei was aged 52 before her death.
A statement issued on Sunday by the presidential spokesman, Reuben Abati, disclosed the passing away of Jonathan’s younger sibling.
He said burial rites for the deceased will be announced later by her family.
