Kaduna Monarch Shot Dead By Gunmen

A traditional ruler in Kaduna State has been murdered by some unknown gunmen. The monarch was shot dead at close range on Friday by the hoodlums.

The deceased, who is the traditional ruler of Zangang in Attakad chiefdom in Kaura local government area of Kaduna State, Yohanna Shinkut, was killed while returning to his palace from an outing.

It was gathered that late Shinkut was on his was back from a neighbouring village, Manchock, at around 8pm, when the gunmen shot at his car tyre.

The vehicle abruptly stopped afterwards, and the gunmen moved closer to him and shot him on the chest. He reportedly died on the spot.

The incident has thrown the late monarch’s community into mourning and they are yet to understand why their traditional ruler was killed by the gunmen.
