Lagos Police Boss Hails Heritage Bank’s Obligation To Security

Heritage Banking Company Limited has thrown its weight behind concerted efforts by corporate bodies to ensure the creation of conducive business environment through improvement in security of life and properties in the country.

In this regard, the Bank recently donated vehicles and other modern security operational equipment to the Lagos State Police Command of the Nigerian Police Force.

The management of Heritage Bank, represented by its Executive Director, Mrs Mary Akpobome and Group Head, Corporate Affairs, Fela Ibidapo, presented the operational equipment, which include two Hilux Security Patrol Vans, several quantities of ballistic vests, ballistic helmets and walkie-talkies, among others, to the Commissioner of Police in Lagos State, Kayode Aderanti who described Heritage Bank as exceptional in its commitment to helping the Force to achieve its role of guaranteeing security of lives and properties as well as maintenance of law and order.

Speaking at the presentation, Aderanti said, “We commend staff and management of Heritage Bank Limited for this laudable donation. We approached the Bank about a month ago and today the bank is donating two brand new Hilux vehicles and other gadgets for our operations.  We intend to deploy all these to assist us curb all sorts of crime and to reduce all forms of criminality in Lagos. This will allow conducive business environment to thrive. To us, this is a bank everybody should emulate and key into.”

In her response, Akpobome noted that, “Heritage Bank is passionate about creating, preserving and transferring wealth amongst the people by partnering to create environment that is safer for business.”

She said the donation by the Bank was meant to support the good work the Nigerian Police Force had been doing in Lagos State.

“Lagos is primary in the affairs of this country and it’s important that everybody can feel safe in the state. We also know that huge resources are required to enable the police force do the work that they need to do. They need these resources to enable them perform their duty efficiently,” she stated.

Akpobome observed further that Heritage Bank had remained one of the corporate subscribers to the Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF) with donations of fund and security equipment to the security trust fund as at Last Year.

She added that the Bank was willing to continue rendering support to the Nigerian Police in its activities in the future.
