Authorities of the Nigeria Police Force have effected some changes to formations in the Force, which they claimed were aimed at reflecting current realities.
In a statement issued on Tuesday by the Force spokesman, Emmanuel Ojukwu, the changes, approved by the IGP, Suleiman Abba, became necessary in “furtherance of the transformation and re-positioning of the Nigeria Police Force for greater efficiency.”
“Department of Training is now to be known as Department of Training and Development (DTD),
Department of Criminal Investigation (DCI) is now to be known as Criminal Investigation And Intelligence Department (CIID).
“Task Force on Terrorism and Heinous Crimes is now to be known as Analytical Tracking And Interception Centre (ATIC) [while] Head of the Centre now official designated; Director,” the statement said.
