Senator Musiliu Obanikoro, on Wednesday, scaled through his screening at the Red Chamber of the National Assembly.
The former Minister of State for Defence was only asked to take a bow by Senate President, David Mark, when he appeared before the lawmakers on Wednesday afternoon. This is the tradition for former members of the National Assembly.
His successful screening came despite opposition from Senators of the All Progressives Congress, APC, and few members of his party, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
Last week, his screening was stalled by the Senate following his alleged involvement in the Ekiti audio recording.
President Goodluck Jonathan re-nominated him as Minister after he earlier resigned in Jonathan’s cabinet in late 2014 to pursue a governorship ambition in Lagos State. However, he lost the party’s primary to Jimi Agbaje.
