Lagos Market Inferno Claims 3 Lives, Many Injured

An early morning fire on Friday at the popular Mile 12 Market in Lagos caused the death of three persons, Aproko247 has reliably learnt.

According to reports gathered by us from eyewitnesses, the inferno was caused by the careless handling of Premium Motor Spirit, PMS, popularly known as petrol by some persons in the market. It was said that some persons carried polythene bags filled with the petroleum product and went near a fire, which caused it to explode.

Properties worth millions of Naira were reportedly consumed by the fire, we also gathered.

The Mile 12 Market is reputed for the sale of food items, which are transported from the northern part of Nigeria to Lagos.

Aproko247 gathered that many people were injured in the incident and are presently at the hospital receiving treatment, while the three persons said to have lost their lives at the fire have been taken to the mortuary.
