Aproko247 has learnt that the Governor Theodore Orji-led Abia State government has removed a Director of the Abia State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission, ASOPADEC, Christian Onuoha, over the death of an 11-year-old girl, who was r@ped to death recently.
Onuoha is the Director of Administration representing the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources in ASOPADEC.
The state government announced the sack of Onuoha on Thursday in Umuahia, the state capital at a press briefing.
The state Commissioner for Information and Strategy, ACB Agbazuere, speaking with journalists at the Government House in Umuahia, noted that the Director was removed from office because of the gravity of the crime; the sexual molestation of a minor and murder.
He further said that Onuoha has already been placed on interdiction pending the determination of his case by the police and the court.
The victim, identified as Anwulika Nathan, from Owo-Ahia Afor in Obingwa Local Government Area of Abia State, is the last female child of Chinenye Nathan, a civil servant in the Abia State civil service.
She was living with the accused as a house help. After the deceased was molested to coma, she was to New Era Hospital, along Niger road and some distance from Amuzukwu Primary and Secondary Schools where she later died.
