Boko Haram Abducts 500 In Borno, Slaughter 50

Members of the Islamic group in Nigeria called Boko Haram have kidnapped over 500 women and children in Borno State. This is coming nearly a year more than 300 students of Government Girls Secondary School, GGSS,  Chibok in Borno State were abducted.

Residents of Damasak, a town in Borno told Reuters on Tuesday that the women and children were siezed by the insurgents when they stormed the town.

“They took 506 young women and children (in Damasak). They killed about 50 of them before leaving,” a trader called Souleymane Ali told Reuters in the town. “We don’t know if they killed others after leaving, but they took the rest with them,” Ali added.

The town was one of those recaptured by troops from Niger and Chad since the Nigerian government and her neighbouring countries formed a joint operation to chase out Boko Haram from the area. Recently, over 70 bodies were uncovered by the foreign troops fighting the terrorists group in the northeast region of Nigeria.
