A statement credited to the National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Lai Mohammed that the Peoples Democratic Party in the Southwest plans to make the presidential election on Saturday inconclusive in the region has been described as a big lie that “could only have emanated from the lips of a Laiing Mohammed”.
Responding to the comment, Akogun Adetokunbo Modupe, the Ondo State Goodluck/Sambo Campaign Coordinator said though the remarks of the “the head of all APC propaganda team” amount to nothing as “he is known to be a serial liar who is always looking for cheap publicity by trading in falsehood.” He added however that he is responding to the allegation because of the impression that his lies will inadvertently cause as the unsuspecting may believe them.
In a statement issued in Akure on Tuesday, Modupe said “there is no iota of truth in the pathological liar’s insinuation except for the figment of his imagination.
“How can we in all conscience, considering the efforts we have put into President Goodluck Jonathan’s campaign to win the South West, and in the face of imminent landslide victory for the Goodluck/Sambo re-election in the South West decide to make the election inconclusive?
“That statement can only come from a perverted mind like Laiing Mohammed’s. We will not be distracted by cheap blackmail and utter falsehood at this stage as we have concluded the routing of APC in all states of the South West.”
The Goodluck-Sambo campaign coordinator, who berated the APC spokesperson for labelling him a co-conspirator with the Ondo state Governor, Dr Olusegun Mimiko, said the APC leader has only succeeded in exposing the plans of the opposition to disrupt the March 28th Presidential election in the Southwest.
Modupe pointed out that the statement credited to the APC spokesperson is a clue to what they probably have in their kitty and only reveal it out of panic.
“But by the grace of God, they will not succeed with the evil grand plan to make the election inconclusive in the South West. It’s obvious that the PDP will win convincingly in the elections and no amount of evil plans of the retrogressive elements can change that,” Modupe said.
He stressed further that “Governor Mimiko, who is the Coordinator of PDP Presidential Campaign Organisation in the South-West is too busy with his assignment of running Ondo State as Governor and steering Mr President’s re-election campaign in the South West that he cannot afford to allow the ranting of an addicted liar like Lai Mohammed to distract him”.
Modupe also stressed that Alhaji Lai Mohammed’s false accusation is a sign of imminent failure and betrays panic in the camp of the opposition, because of the imminent landslide victory that will greet President Jonathan re-election in the South West.
“You can only fool the people for some time; you cannot fool all the people all the time. Alhaji Lai has lied far too long that Nigerians are not only tired of listening to him, but the people are also fed up with his antics.
“How long does he think he can sustain his malicious propaganda? His addiction to lying is unparalleled in modern history. For a man to be running a presidential campaign on lies, half-truths and blatant deceit is to say the least crude and wicked,” the Coordinator concluded.
