Jonathan, Buhari Sign Another Peace Deal

Presidential candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and the All Progressives Congress, APC, Goodluck Jonathan and Muhammadu Buhari respectively, have again signed another peace accord.

The two major contenders in the March 28 presidential election signed a similar pact on January 14, 2015 in Abuja for the February 14, 2015 presidential poll, which was later postponed to March 28.

The second peace deal between the President, who is seeking a reelection, and Buhari took place on Thursday morning in Abuja.

The meeting was brokered by the National Peace Committee for the 2015 General Elections headed by Abdusalami Abdusalami, a former Head of State. It was gathered that the peace meeting was called to get the commitment of the two candidates in ensuring a violent-free poll.

Also at the meeting were the national chairmen of their respective political parties.
