The card reading machines deployed for accreditation at the polling unit of President Goodluck Jonathan in his Otueke hometown in Bayelsa State initially messed up.
After waiting for over 30 minutes, the President was unable to be accredited the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC. The first three card reading machines brought to authenticate Jonathan’s Permanent Voter’s Card, PVC, failed, even the fourth.
However, the President’s mother was accredited at the first attempt. Also, Jonathan’s wife, Patience, could not be accredited.
Jonathan arrived his polling unit 13 in Otuoke, Ogbia Local Government Area of Bayelsa State, at about 9:20am, and left with his family some minutes past 10am, where he addressed newsmen.
Jonathan urged voters to be calm and be patient with INEC.
