After initially not being able to get accredited by the card reading machines provided by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, President Goodluck Jonathan has eventually be authenticated as a voter for the presidential and National Assembly elections on Saturday.
The President’s voter’s card was initially rejected by the reading device, as well as his wife’s. After waiting in vain for more than 30 minutes, the couple left the polling unit some minutes past 10 am.
However, he returned to his polling unit with his wife at about 11am and were authenticated manually by putting their names on the Incident List.
Jonathan urged eligible voters to be patient with INEC.
