Aproko247 has learnt that the Resident Electoral Commissioner, REC, for the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, in Kano State, Mikaila Abdulahi, has died in a mysterious inferno that occurred in the wee hours of Friday.
However, how the fire started or what prompted it still remains unknown to residents of the area, where the late INEC-man lived. They are still in shock over the strange incident.
It was further gathered that the wife and two children of Abdulahi also died in the fire.
The deceased was in charge of the presidential and National Assembly elections held in Kano last Saturday.
Residents of the area described the late Abdulahi as a God-fearing and easy going man, who was friendly to people around him despite his position.
