The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has stressed that it will used the card reading machines for the April 11 governorship elections.
The same devices were used for the March 28 presidential election, which was won by candidate of the opposition All Progressives Congress, APC, Muhammadu Buhari.
In a statement issued by Secretary to the Commission, Mrs Augusta Ogakwu, it was pointed out that the card readers will be used to authenticate the Permanent Voters’ Card, PVCs, presented by voters at the polling units across the country.
Ogakwu stated that INEC has reviewed the challenges observed in the use of the card readers during the presidential poll and has taken steps to correct them.
