I'm Still In PDP–RMD

Veteran Nigerian actor, Richard Mofe Damifo, better known as RMD, has dispelled reports making the rounds that he has left the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to join the All Progressives Congress, APC.

RMD was rumoured to have quit the PDP and even endorsed candidate of the APC in the Saturday’s governorship election in Delta State, Olorogun O’tega.

Reacting to the viral report, the actor, a Commissioner under the present admnistration of Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan, said there is no iota of truth in the rumour.

RMD stressed that he is still a member of the PDP and will inform his supporters if he ever decides to quit the party.

The actor emphasised that he has “not defected to APC.”

He said O’tega visited him at his country home, where they “discussed personal and political matters.”

Since the APC won the presidential election on March 28, hundreds of PDP members have defected to the party.
