Rivers Election Tribunal Moves To Abuja

It has been disclosed that the Rivers State Election Petition Tribunal has been relocated to Abuja. The tribunal gave security as its reason for the action.

In a statement made available to the News Agency of Nigeria, NAN, on Wednesday in Abuja, by the tribunal’s Secretary, Mrs Deborah Musa, the decision to move sittings to the Nation’s capital was approved by President of the Court of Appeal, Justice Zainab Bulkachuwa.

It was further disclosed that the acting Chief Judge of the FCT High Court, Justice Ishaq Bello, approved the FCT High Court in Apo as the secretariat and trial court for the tribunal.

The Rivers State governorship electon was greeted with controversies. The All Progressives Congress, APC, claimed massive rigging by the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
