Acting Inspector General of Police, Solomon Arase, has told his men that any officer caught with an unruly behaviour during the reschedule election in few states of the federation would have himself to blame.
Arase made this stern warning on Friday in a statement signed in Abuja by the Force spokesman, Emmanuel Ojukwu.
The police chief said he expects his men to “conduct themselves in line with established Standard Operational Guidelines.”
The Independent National Electoral Commission is set to conduct supplementary elections in Abia, Imo, Kogi, Delta and Taraba States on Saturday, April 25, 2015.
Arase reminded his men “to be above board and maintain the highest level of professionalism for which the Force has been widely commended both locally and internationally.”
He warned that “severe disciplinary sanctions would be meted out to any deviant officer who breaches the code of conduct.”
