The Lagos State Government has announced the cancellation of human and vehicular activities during the April sanitation exercise across the state.
In a statement issued by Fola Adeyemi on behalf of the Ministry of the Environment, it was disclosed that the decision to remove the restriction in this month’s exercise is as a result of the nationwide National Common Entrance Examination, NECO, which holds on Saturday, April 25, 2015.
Commissioner for Environment, Tunji Bello, was quoted in the statement to have said that the cancellation is to allow easy movement of Invigilators, parents, guardians, students and examinations materials to the respective centres in the state.
However, Bello urged residents of the state to ensure the cleaning of their surroundings on Saturday, further advising them to clean their drainages as the rainy season approaches fast in order to avoid flooding in the state.
