The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has declared the incumbent governor of Imo State, Rochas Okorocha, as the winner of the governorship election in the state.
Okorocha defeated his closest rival in the poll, Emeka Ihedioha of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, who is also the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives.
The governor polled 416,996 votes while Ihedioha amassed 320,705 votes after a re-run that was held on Saturday, April 25, 2015.
With the victory, Okorocha will be using his second and final term as the governor of Imo State.
