An indefinite industrial action has been embarked upon by workers in Plateau State.
The employees are furious over the refusal of the government to pay their salaries, gratuity and pension to retirees for over five months.
Organised labour in the state, comprising the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC; Trade Union Congress, TUC; and the Joint Negotiating Council, JNC, ordered their members to stay away from work until the government take steps to solve the issues.
However, the state government has said it has not been able to meet its obligations because of the falling allocation from the Federal Government recently and urged the workers to understand with the government.
The workers and the government of Jonah Jang have been on this issue for a while now, but the employees are bent on getting their requests granted.
