President Muhammadu Buhari has described the terrorists who attacked a mosque in Maiduguri, the Borno State capital on Saturday as “criminal elements” and “cowardly murderers that target innocent people.”
In a statement issued in Abuja on Saturday by head of his media team, Garba Shehu, Buhari warned that “his new administration won’t tolerate wanton and wilful destruction of life” by insurgents, especially those “that are bent on” causing “anarchy” in the country.
The President promised to do his best to “protect the security of Nigerians everywhere,” while warning the Boko Haram group that he will fight them “with all the resources available to his government.”
More than a dozen persons were killed in the Saturday attack, while several persons were injured.
Buhari, while condoling with families of the victims of the attack, “assured them that” the days of the terrorists “will be over soon.”
