**Vows To Reduce Cost Of Governance
Newly sworn-in governor of Lagos State, Akinwunmi Ambode, has promised to do his best to cut down the cost of running government in the state.
Ambode made this disclosure at the meeting he held with Permanent Secretaries in the state last Saturday, a day after he assumed office as governor of the state.
The governor, who was appointed Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Finance in January 2005 and voluntarily retired from public service in August 2012, said the current cost of running government was making it difficult to carry out many developmental works in Lagos State.
Ambode said he hopes to serve the state diligently and asked for the support of his ‘former colleagues’ in taking Lagos State to the Promised Land.
The governor added that as part of his decision to reduce the cost of governance, he will relocate the State House in Marina to Alausa, Ikeja, the seat of power in Lagos State.
