A meeting earlier scheduled for Thursday in Abuja between the Senate President, Bukola Saraki and National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, could no longer hold.
Saraki’s media aide, Bamikole Omishore, who had earlier notified journalist of the meeting for 12:45pm on Thursday, later sent out a message to newsmen, informing them that the meeting has been cancelled.
However, Omishore did not give reason for the cancellation.
The Senate President was to meet with Oyegun and members of APC’s National Working Committee, NWC, of the APC, ostensibly to discuss issues relating to the events that occurred on Monday in the National Assembly.
Saraki emerged the Senate President on Monday at the inauguration of the 8th National Assembly against his party’s wish. Most Senators elected under the platform of the APC were at a meeting called by President Muhammadu Buhari when he was elected Senate President.
