A Nigerian player in the Malaysian league on Saturday died after he collapsed during a friendly match in the Asian country.
The footballer, David Faramola Oniya, slumped on the pitch in the third minute of the game in Kota Bharu and was quickly rushed to the hospital for medical attention, where he eventually gave up the ghost.
Oniya, a defender and captain of his club, T-Team, was playing against Kelantan when the unfortunate incident took place.
He was said to have died of heart attack. When words got the his team that he had died at the hospital, the match was abruptly ended.
